 Construction Hours

In Cameo

 

 

From time to time we need to remind owners about Cameo Community regulations and City ordinances governing allowable times for working on construction projects and running power equipment.  These regulations apply to homeowner "Do It Yourself" projects as well as to contractors running rebuild/remodel projects.    Contact Code Enforcement @ 949.644.3215 (Weekdays) or 949.644.3717 (Nights and Weekends) if you observe any violations of the following:
 

 

Cameo's Architectural Guidelines state:

 

Section 9.8:  Upon receiving written approval from the AC, the homeowner(s) must agree to conform to all the construction standards of the Association. All construction operations shall be carried out between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M., Monday through Friday and 8:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Saturday. NO CONSTRUCTION WORK WILL BE CONDUCTED ON SUNDAYS OR HOLIDAYS. The Cameo Holidays are: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day (Washington’s Birthday), Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. In the event that the City of Newport Beach ordinances differ, the more restrictive conditions will apply.

 

 

Newport Beach Municipal Code states:

 

10.28.045 Real Property Maintenance

Noise Regulations

 

 

A. Weekdays and Saturdays. No person shall, while engaged in maintenance of real property, operate any tool, equipment or machine in a manner which produces loud noise that disturbs, or could disturb, a person of normal sensitivity who works or resides in the vicinity, except Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., nor on any Saturday, except between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

B. Sundays and Holidays. No person shall, while engaged in maintenance of real property, operate any tool, equipment or machine in a manner which produces loud noise that disturbs, or could disturb, a person of normal sensitivity who works or resides in the vicinity, on any Sunday or any federal holiday.

C. No landowner, gardener, property maintenance service, contractor, subcontractor or employer shall permit or allow any person or persons working under their direction and control to operate any tool, equipment or machine in violation of the provisions of this section.

D. After January 1, 1996, mechanical blowers, as defined in Section 6.04.055, shall not be operated at a noise level that exceeds an A-weighted sound pressure level of seventy (70) dBA, as measured at a distance of fifty (50) feet. After January 1, 1999, such equipment shall not be operated at a noise level that exceeds an A-weighted sound pressure level of sixty-five (65) dBA, as measured from a distance of fifty (50) feet.
