Watch Your Speed!
The legal speed limit within residential communities is 25 mph. Please mind your speed while driving within Cameo Community, especially as you enter and exit Cameo Highlands and Cameo Shores. If we don’t self-regulate speed in our community, then Newport Beach Police will.

Cameo Beaches & Parks
Etiquette
When you use our beaches or parks for your enjoyment and pleasure, please remember that the trash you leave behind becomes a problem not only for our environmentally sensitive areas and water quality, but also for the visitors who follow you.
Our beaches and tide pools are part of the ASBS (Area of Special Biological Significance) and a protected Biological Marine Reserve.
It is important that we do our part to protect these resources and remove any trash that results from our use of these areas.
Cameo was assessed a $300 clean-up fee for trash that was left on Beach 3 over the 4th of July weekend.
Do your part; remove your trash and place it in the available receptacles. If those bins are full, please notify Villageway immediately by calling 949.450.1515.
Please Note: FIRES ARE NOT allowed on beaches and have not been allowed by the city or fire department for the last several years.

Pet Owners
The City of Newport Beach requires that all pets be on a leash when out in public or on private property other than the owner's property. We continue to receive numerous complaints about both unleashed dogs and excrement left on sidewalks and parking strips. Please pick up after your pets. And be sure your kids know the rules. The City can levy fines for violations of these rules. That goes for "noise nuisance" as well.
Newport Beach Municipal Code
7.04.020 Leash Required
No person having the care, charge or control of any dog shall cause
or allow, either willfully or through failure to exercise due care
or control, such dog to be present upon any beach, street, alley, or
public place, or upon any private property or premises other than
his or her own without written consent of the owner or lessee of
such land unless such dog is securely restrained by a substantial
leash or chain not exceeding six feet in length and controlled by a
person competent to restrain such dog. This section shall not be
construed as allowing dogs on leashes in the areas from which dogs
are prohibited as designated by Sections 7.04.025, 7.04.030, and
7.04.050. (Ord. 89-8 § 1, 1989: Ord. 1230 § 1, 1967: Ord. 796
(part), 1956: 1949 Code § 4107)

reasonable persons of normal sensitivity who reside in
separate residences (including apartments and/or
condominiums).
However, the Animal Control Officer or his or her agent may
proceed on the basis of a complaint of only one person if
circumstances are determined to exist where a noise
disturbance caused by an animal affects only one individual.
Any noise which is audible continuously for ten minutes or
intermittently for thirty (30) minutes shall be prima facia
evidence of such annoyance or discomfort.
The factors which should be considered in determining whether
a violation has been committed include, but are not limited

Violates Public Right-of-Way
The Board has received a number of calls regarding parked vehicles which block our sidewalks in Cameo.
Please be
aware that such action violates the public's right of way.
Newport Beach Municipal Code 10.50.020(J) requires that the public's
right of way is not hindered by parked or stored vehicles. If
vehicles are parked in such a way as to block a sidewalk, the City's
Code Enforcement Division can and will issue a citation.
Please make sure that you, and workers at your home, keep our
sidewalks and parkways clear for public access.
Thank you for your compliance.

Homeowner Parkways
13.09.030 Maintenance & Policy G6
The City’s General Services Department has provided us with a recap of city/homeowner responsibilities, as well as a copy of the municipal codes and city policy governing city trees in homeowner parkways. Generally, the city plants, stakes and sprays the trees. The homeowners are responsible for feeding and watering the trees. Cameo Community Association and the city are responsible for trimming the trees. For more details, please click here.
